Any reasonable offer accepted, this thing needs to get a second chance at life before I move to Australia!

I’m all for saving weight, but the shoelace seems silly to me. I’d rather a couple of ounces of aluminium on each foot and the stability of a rigid highback.

My guess is that the gain wouldn’t be that great given that your bindings are the two biggest “clamps” in your whole setup, so putting a little clip in between them wouldn’t add much if you’ve got your bindings set up for a snug fit.

Avy forecast is looking much better through this weekend. NWAC is reporting that the crown on the Shuksan arm slide on Thursday was around 15 feet! Crazy to think that the 15′ or so of snow that slid all fell within the last 10 days.

Definitely fly into Seattle. If you get in early enough in the day I’d say just go ride at Baker – it’s about a 30 minute drive past Glacier.

You can buy the Lightrail setup for $100 without sliders/gaskets, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it sold without the touring brackets.
