Of course the heels would have a tension release for ski mode. I’m looking at the dynafit tlt vertical sl binding for ski mode. Based on rental experience i’d say din 7 suits me just…[Read more] PowderNewb replied to the topic Hardbooter Bindings with locked heels in tour? in the forum Bindings 11 years, 6 months agoI see what you guys are saying but I just want to get the right gear first time around. Whats the point of spending 1k on a board/softboot/binding setup that I dont plan on using for too long? http://www.bomberonline.com/articles/snowboarding_day_one.cfm However if learning on softboots is better than I will do so.I’ll wear hockey pad shorts I…[Read more] PowderNewb replied to the topic Dynafit Bindings mount the complete binding (toe and heel)?? in the forum Bindings 11 years, 6 months agoDoes the mounting of the ski binding make it somewhat awkward being centered? As I’m sure you know most alpine ski’s have the bindings mounted closer to the rear. PowderNewb replied to the topic Hardbooter Bindings with locked heels in tour? in the forum Bindings 11 years, 6 months agoReading the bomber site for hardbooting says learning on hardboots could actually be easier, possilbly easier transition for skiers. I am curious of what these bad habits hardboots might give? PowderNewb replied to the topic Hardbooter Bindings with locked heels in tour? in the forum Bindings 11 years, 6 months agoSimply because I want to board from the peak down but dont want to swap for a few steep hills down along the way. I’d feel much more stable if I could lock in the heels to stop. @Snurfer wrote:I don’t have an answer, but an observation….With all due respect (and based on your other posts) why don’t you just ski? PowderNewb replied to the topic Weight of a modern splitboard setup vs AT ski setup? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 11 years, 6 months agoThats the plan, so far we’ve just been hiking up peaks, with them attached to my belt pulling me. Which is what i’d like them to do also when i’m on ski’s and they’d be off leash on the downhill. @BlahBlahBlah wrote:Maybe a bit off topic. Regarding those two places, most people hike up and ski down to the parkinglot. Which on weekends probally see’s over 500+ ppl per day foot traffic climbing and perhaps at least 25 skiing their own trails back down to the parkinglot. The duration of the entire run currently…[Read more] PowderNewb replied to the topic Weight of a modern splitboard setup vs AT ski setup? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 11 years, 6 months agoThanks for the tips, only places I plan to ride are maybe a 2 hr climb. Mostly seymour/cypress. I’m basically getting into all this because i’ve adopted two Arctic dogs and since I can’t ride lifts with them… I’ll have to do back country. Dont really “intend” for any overnight stays tho.
