I’ll write a review once I have some time but I totally agree with what Barrows said here! it has become my favorite board. btw the weight of the new Odin in 165/26 is 3’7kg, which is 8.1571037 lbs according to Google. PeRi replied to the topic Fitwell Backcountry in the forum Re: Re: Fitwell Backcountry 7 years ago I think the zebra rubber was a smart move from Fitwell! that makes them super noticeable, easy to distinguish even in a blurry pic! :bananas: PeRi replied to the topic Large radius(sidecut) boards in the forum Splitboards 7 years ago Exactly, the new 14/15 Venture Odin has been resdesigned so now the radius is around 12m I have already the 165/26 for next season, can’t wait to try it out! PeRi replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Re: Re: 2015 Gear Thread 7 years ago Bcrider, I agree with you on the Salomon Premiere. The guy who developed it is a splitboarder, and I think it could work for certain days. I feel like it will work better in Europe than in the US. I guess we’re more used to narrow skintracks and steep traversing following skimo people… the idea that the skis are stiff and the middle part softer…[Read more] PeRi replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Re: Re: 2015 Gear Thread 7 years, 1 month ago it looked the same as previous year, just a change in the design! Not sure if this was the anti-social or the spliff… i think anti-social, but they were all quite similar! PeRi replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Re: Re: 2015 Gear Thread 7 years, 1 month ago A couple of things that come to my mind: Jones will not be offering the mountain twin splitboard, but they keep the solid board. Burton will not be offering the Freebird anymore, just the landlord, spliff and anti-social. K2 offers the channel system in the Panoramic split aswell, they don’t change anything else, still offering the Kwicker Smokin…[Read more] PeRi replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 7 years, 1 month ago Hey guys, after 4 days of working hard at the ISPO trade show I can finally be online! Here’s a video of how the new Plum works: ISPO ’14 Highlights – Plum bindings system – In my opinion, a great system, still a prototype, but super simple and fast and easy to switch from tour to ride. Do not hesitate to ask me for more…[Read more] PeRi replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Re: Re: 2015 Gear Thread 7 years, 1 month ago @rughty wrote: @FloImSchnee wrote: What’s the purpose of an inner sidecut? Sidehilling grip will be better with a straight edge. the purpose for the sidecut would be for better splitski performance on rolling terrain, not for traverses. exactly, not everything is traversing when touring! Bcrider, agree with you completely! :thatrocks: PeRi replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Re: Re: 2015 Gear Thread 7 years, 1 month ago I don’t see the point on doing a 3-parts splitboard if the two halves don’t have a sidecut on both edges, like the design from Phenix! PeRi replied to the topic Fitwell Backcountry in the forum Re: Re: Fitwell Backcountry 7 years, 2 months ago I’ve been on them for about 5 days and I just love them! I would say it’s a reallly stiff boot, for sure the stiffest one I’ve used. Last year I used the Deeluxe Spark XV, and they softened up very easily after a few days, the Fitwells seem to hold better. I usually don’t use the powerstrap for touring and strap it on the downhill. The touring…[Read more] PeRi replied to the topic How do Fitwell Backcounty Boots fit? in the forum Boots 7 years, 2 months ago Philip.ak, I use a 29cm Fitwell, let me know if you need anything else! PeRi replied to the topic 2011 Voile Light Rail… advise in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 7 years, 2 months ago they sent me the blue ones (new version) with the new touring brackets too! not sure if they have the orange ones in stock anymore… PeRi replied to the topic 2011 Voile Light Rail… advise in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 7 years, 2 months ago I had the same problem with the 2011 version without bushes. It didn’t break completely but due to the friction of the pin the hole got wider and there was too much lateral movement when skinning. Voile sent me replacement rails right away (the blue ones), so it’s just unscrewing the old rails and replacing for the new ones.
