If you wait for a corn cycle, get an early start, and are up for another long climb, firing a run down the S Facing side of Pfeifferhorn into AF canyon and then climbing back up for a N facing exit run is about as good as it gets. Bring plenty of water. Whippets and crampons can be nice for the final summit climb in hard conditions.

Welcome back to winter. Hope to see a bunch of you Saturday at the Depot. This should be our best USAW yet. Looking forward to the Salt Lake Surf Company event Thursday night. We have our first observation of the season up as well. Lots going on in SLC this week.

Wow, that is great to hear. We have tried to make USAW a little more oriented to backcountry users’ needs – more info you can use and less research and public safety oriented. We expect to sell out this year, and, if we don’t, we need to shut the online ticket sales down the day before and charge more at the door, so get your tickets early.
