I’ve had the same pair of Leki poles for almost 10 years with just minor problems. Sometimes (every couple of years) you have to pull the locking mechanism out and expand the plastic by screwing it in all the way but other than that I haven’t seen a need to get a new set of poles.

No damage to the touring brackets but you have to occasionally take out the slop at the pivot point by bending the sides of the touring bracket to hold the plate tighter.

I ride on mtn plates with snowboard hard boots.

I ski my splitboard about as much as I ride it even though I’ve got two pair of tele skis sitting at home. Also, having the curved side in eliminates the possibility of catching the hardware as the skis pass each other.

If you ever try skiing in skinning mode, you’ll definitely want the curved edges on the inside for carving turns.
