Hey Matt…ya i’m throwing it on again and just didn’t have space for the Five Metre Base logo this year….going to to be a good one though with a Heli Trip from Eagle Pass Heli Skiing, a Jones Hovercraft Splitboard and Tickets to Whitewater! Just crossing my fingers that it fills up!

Go for the pass if you can….the more you ride, the better you ride!
A solid board, no 20-30lb backpack, a fat pow day and a ride up…yup…

I’ve been running Ions the last three seasons and they’ve been really good. I too didn’t want as stiff a boot as a Driver as well so they have been perfect.
They have had some issues like the speed zone laces, I rip through all four of them at least once a season and there is also a small piece of plastic that is sewn into the boot for the lace…[Read more]

Thanks for the weekend everyone…sick vid Scoho! I wish we could have hit the goods like that but it turned out to be more of an exploration weekend to areas that we had never been.
On Saturday we hit Avalanche peak and were met with a complete whiteout just below the summit. Snowpack felt good with CT’s at CTM 17 & 18 (SC), Down 30cm on 1.0mm…[Read more]

nice work on that deck though….good to hear of more people around getting into it!

Can you give some more details about the other performance advantages of the LT system that make it worth the cash?
The difference is amazing compared to the standard steel brackets. Rather than roughly 1/8″ thick of bent steel plate for the pin to bear on, the LT’s give you 3/8″ of bearing with another 3/8″ on the binding itself. That adds up…[Read more]

I mailed Greg last year wondering if, when guiding, you find yourselves more predominantly in hard or soft boots and Greg’s response was that different situations require different tools which makes total sense.
I’ve since been wondering about a situation where a client is in trouble, seconds count and you are staring down a…[Read more]

So incredibly stoked for this! Have wanted to go the last couple of years but getting up to AK just hasn’t been in the cards. Eagle Pass Heli-skiing is also partnering up with the event which is pretty awesome cause Scott Newsome is one of only two ACMG splitboard guides and Eagle Pass and its terrain were just featured in the Art of Flight.
