Especially inside with just a t-shirt on. Mine hits the top of my shoulder blade but once I am wearing a few layers and the pack has some weight in it everything is fine. Not sure if that is a problem or not. I’m not sure how good they are for lateral impacts (side, front, back) which is the type of impact I would expect in a ski/snowboard crash.
