Has anyone looked at the NS raven?? I would love to hear some opinions on this women’s board. I have very basic knowledge of specs and what they all mean so its hard for me to interpret the info that’s online. Anyone rode anything like it? Or seen any reviews?

Thank you for the ideas!

What is your inbounds board?
and what were the conditions on the day you rode the 156?My experience in the backcountry as been in varied conditions, very varied. I would say that a from a 151 to a 156 is a lot to jump up in size if you think you will go out on more then then just the best powder days. Trees, crud, long flat sections to get back…[Read more]

Hey I have this kind of pain too, I think mine falls under 2nd metatarsal overload syndrome. I got that fancy name from this page http://www.northcoastfootcare.com/pages/Ball-of-Foot-Pain.html, which has some cool diagrams and ideas about how to combat specific types of pain in the ball of your foot. Bottom line looks like it ties into tight…[Read more]

Why would you say no to something like this question? This guy is trying to get the ball rolling on something that would benefit us all. Just because you didn’t think of it and have found a million reasons not to do something in your own life doesn’t mean you have to look for reasons for others not to follow thru with great ideas. Get this…[Read more]

Not a forest service cabin, but I did my avi 1 at the Yurtski yurt in the southern swans last week. Didn’t get to ride a lot of the terrain because we were busy with the course, but what we did ride and what we saw was awesome. Plenty of treed lines, wide open bowls, and chutes nearby. Lots of terrain. You’d want to sled in. I would definitely…[Read more]

Don’t be duped into stopping after your ride down in a meadow 50 feet from the next pitch over. Find some little feature that will let you get some momentum into the next section down instead.
On the uphill when anyone stops to chat don’t be the last one to get moving again.

If you need a moderator I can do it. Although I don’t think it has to be exclusive to ladies.
Thanks for sharing your ladies’ blog- I am going to ride the Sawtooths myself this Feburary. I’d love it if she joined.

What if it were a subforum under Gear? Gear related questions would definitely be the most poplular reason to use it, and it would be a catch all for boards, boots etc. If it went over well as a gear forum and it seemed like there was demand it could be moved to the general forums area and be a catch all for anything ladies wanted to talk about,…[Read more]

OOOh I would go with GNU’s BPRO split, 152! I want to get my hands on one of these so badly! I have been riding a Bpro 152 for a few years and it is the most fun board I have ever ever ridden. Its poppy and fun, and it floats really well. It turns quickly and its responsive in tons of conditions. Now they are making a splitboard out of it. Its…[Read more]

Wow Jefe009 you hit the nail on the head. This is exactly my experience with this board. I am 115 lb, and 5’3″ on a good day. I have been riding the Zephyr 154 from last season. Its 2 cm bigger then my favorite board, and I usually ride women’s specific boards. So I’ve been wondering if it was the size and stiffness of this board that was…[Read more]

Thanks for all the input! I finally made a decision and went with Sparks Blazes. Extra money and maybe I’m still a little worried about them being a bit too big, but more and more I’ve heard, they are worth it. Especially since they teamed up with Burton for rachets. I have a friend who uses bic pens as shims to get a tighter fit on bindings…[Read more]

Thanks for the reply Tiltedworld.
I’m still a little concerned about the side to side space beside the boots. But the more I talk to people the more I hear good things about Sparks and no one who has noticed this being a problem.
I’m going to hold off on making a decision for a bit longer. I’m still looking for a pair of Rides or other aluminum…[Read more]Kadydid replied to the topic Best bindings for small feet?? in the forum Bindings 11 years, 4 months ago
Thanks Kenny, thats a good idea that I will look into. The only problem is that it opens a whole new can of worms trying to find an aluminum binding that would work for me. I’ve used a friends Rides that fit well, but in my experience helping my students with Ride bindings the rachets are always getting stuck or frozen. Any other ideas on…[Read more]
