I took the course with KR as an instructor several years ago. I had a great time and I frequently use the skills I learned.

I would stress that this is a course, not a typical guided trip. A couple people in my course had the wrong expectation and were dissapointed.

Just got back from a day trip to lake Helen. 1-2 feet of fresh cascade concrete on top of a good base (I was measuring anywhere from 4-8 ft total at various locations between bunny flat and helen). Looks like a little more snow on the way this week. South face should be good for awhile

the mini ratchets (4) that tighten the powerstrap stick out and tend to cause problems on the skin track. IE the ratchets on your left foot will hit the ratchets on your right foot as you skin up. The ratchets are on both sides of the bindings so you can’t just reverse them like normal strap bindings. I’m currently hacking off the ratchets…[Read more]
