It hasn’t been on snow in two years because we haven’t seen a big storm.I’ve been testing equipment for Voile over 25 years, including split boards since day one. Currently trying the 165 and a cob job dynafit toe, cable heel, bellowed AT boot, mounted on next years V6 ski. The 165 revelator I’m using is a beat to shit demo with two core shots. It has been to 40° slopes, no problem. Have not had any durability issues on any capped constructed skis or boards. I’ll take the light weight and not worry about urban…[Read more] jive stick replied to the topic Voile Revelator – long taper, long scr shape? in the forum Splitboards 8 years, 3 months agoI’ve been on the 162 and 165. No idea if they are production models. Similar feel to the mojo. More power with a nice kick coming out of turns. No fish scales on the ones I tried. Capped = lighter board. Like the 165 better for float. Much nicer boards than the Artesans. jive stick replied to the topic UTAH 2013/2014 Conditions in the forum Utah 8 years, 4 months agoI was on skis that day but, there were no tracks on the hill prior to my descent. Sorry for the confusion. jive stick replied to the topic UTAH 2013/2014 Conditions in the forum Utah 8 years, 4 months agoI dropped this cornicein Georges today. I was using Georges as an exit after coming from Alta and looking at a very large avalanche in upper Cardiff. I am not in the habit of randomly kicking cornices. The drop was a stability test to insure a safe descent. I followed the path left by the cornice crossing no tracks till reaching the flat where…[Read more] jive stick replied to the topic Do you switch your board halves when hiking? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 9 years, 5 months agoActually, switching board halves came about the day after we mounted the first 15 hooger boogers with proto hardware because the chinese hooks were fixed and you’d catch the board on um if the halves weren’t switched. In answer to the question…yup. jive stick replied to the topic K2 introduces the new "Kwicker" splitboard system – in the forum Splitboards 9 years, 6 months agoTook it out yesterday. Used old boots(backwards compatible). Marginally functional as it sits. Needs some serious work and a mountain boot not a jibber boot. BTW, I am not calling a modified AT ski boot a mountain boot. Ski boots are for skiers. I want a light comfy updated super pipe style snow board boot. jive stick replied to the topic K2 introduces the new "Kwicker" splitboard system – in the forum Splitboards 9 years, 6 months agoCan’t wait to get me hands on the systembut, the boots need work. Reliable both boot release in avalanche far outweighs the current flaws. Been there done that. jive stick replied to the topic pull to open bindings string do it on not? in the forum Avy Discussion Forum 9 years, 6 months agoPut um on. Makes entry and exit easier. Don’t plan on release for avalanche, though…and one in, one out is as bad or worse than both in. jive stick replied to the topic splitboarding history ??? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 9 years, 7 months ago^^^^ I could tell a story or two about that and a few other things but… :nononno: jive stick replied to the topic splitboarder in movie circa 2ooo? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 9 years, 9 months ago jive stick replied to the topic 2011/2012 Utah snow and avalanche conditions in the forum Utah 10 years, 2 months ago jive stick replied to the topic Voile V-Tail Review? in the forum Splitboards 10 years, 3 months agoTwo days fresh on a 170, 8-10″20-24″knocked around in debris, good float with 2′, nimble on the exit out gullies. The ones I use also have an instep buckle attached. I also have the parts to make an attached high back. Have been trying for several years to get some help with that but…Wally does the r and d. BTW, the best time for r and d is during the summer months so testing can be done during the winter. Load More
