InTheMountains replied to the topic Swallowtail Skins in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I have the Voile 195, the Prior 172 and the Rossi Sushi 145, and don’t use tail clips on any of them. For the 172 and the 195 I merely use the skins (without clips) that came with a Burton 168 Split. The Rossi being quite wide, I bought the matching Rossi skins. Don’t have issues with the lack of coverage on the two larger swallows, nor of…[Read more]

InTheMountains replied to the topic Tech binding leashes – Do you use them? in the forum Bindings 4 years, 2 months ago

Been riding the dynafit tech bindings for 11 seasons and have never used leashes. Only time I’ve had an issue with a potential for a runaway was when i neglected to lock the toe into touring mode.

Having been afflicted with the toronto area for about 10 years of my life I can feel your pain. Though luckily I was able to escape back to BC a while ago.

that being said…I know of at least one guy that skis AT near blue mtn. So it can be done, you just need to look around.
I used to drive to New Hampshire and Quebec for some splitting.…[Read more]

After having these units in my greasy hands for the past few months, I figured it was time for a review.

Overall I am really happy with them, they have served me extremely well on aprox 20 touring days. On the initial tests in my living room, they seemed quite snug on my boots, but in the cold when the plastic boot shrinks a bit, they are…[Read more]

Treepilot, I run a 26.5 boot but its actually easier to build these with larger boot sizes.
Threw this together yesterday as i had a bit of time and still working on a few things to get adjustment so its still in the process.
The one drawback is that one size wont fit all and can only be made as a custom plate.

This has been an issue for as long as ski’s have been manufactured. Some builders use cord length ( a string from tip to tail held taught above the topsheet would measure this). Others use running length (at least this is what they used to say in the ski magazines…but i’ve never seen skis sold this way). And finally there is the method of the…[Read more]
