Hyakbc replied to the topic Voile Test Pilot? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 13 years, 1 month agoLooks like the touring brackets got lighter. Cool. Glad to see they’re not asleep at the wheel. Hyakbc replied to the topic Snowboard-Surf Transfer in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 13 years, 2 months agoPull up a hammock somewhere warm, like Central America or Hawaii, after two months you’ll have it figured. The stuff to learn right off the bat is popping up and paddling strength and reading waves. I guess it’s like riding pow except the wave has ENERGY. Avoid places where the people in the water are mean mugging. Uh let’s see, what else, oh, if…[Read more] Hyakbc replied to the topic Splitboard Meccas? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 13 years, 2 months agoBaker is a shred mecca of course and may be on its way to becoming a split mecca, I counted over a dozen splitters in the upper lot yesterday, the most I’ve seen in one place in Washington. It could have been the bluebird and pow that pulled em out of the woodwork. Paradise at Mt. Rainier might deserve a mention. Hyakbc replied to the topic OT: Dirtbag Chalet/Revisiting the truck bed platform in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 13 years, 2 months agoFor solo trips I use a cot in the truck bed. Nice to have the space to put on boots inside or stack up boards. Cots are nice because they are fold up out of the way and if the weather is nice you can sleep outside. $30-$100 depending on the model. For trips with the Mrs. I have a futon frame which I cut out to fit in the wheel wells. She really…[Read more] Hyakbc replied to the topic G3 Cllimbing Heels; meant for tele, work for splitboard in the forum Splitboard Swap 13 years, 3 months agoI might be interested in these. I think I saw another thread that suggested the G3’s don’t work so hot with the sparks due to where they strike the base plate, causing damage to the binding. Have you tried em with your sparks yet? Hyakbc replied to the topic "new" Voile swallowtail in the forum Voile 13 years, 3 months agoWelcome back 195! Hyakbc replied to the topic Bloodbath, goodbye snow. in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 13 years, 4 months agoAnd now news that a landslide/avalanche went wall to wall on Hyak face and took out two lift towers on the Kechelus chair and knocked a house off it’s foundation… WTF? Anyone familiar with Hyak will have their minds blown by this. http://www.flickr.com/photos/misha-stack Hyakbc replied to the topic Voile Gear Give Away in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 14 years, 1 month agoWell, if getting ripped off qualifies someone for gear I guess I qualify. Truck broken in to in downtown Seattle. They got a BCA pack with two transcievers, probes, camera, ipod etc. Didn’t take my board though. Those tweakers are stoked! Can you imagine two crackheads trying to figure out what the transcievers are? Hyakbc replied to the topic Venture makes swallowtail in the forum Splitboards 14 years, 1 month agoThat’s not a swallowtail. Hyakbc replied to the topic Deploy Shovel in the forum The Gear Room 14 years, 1 month agoI’ll chime in for the Voile shovels: bomber. Also, the BCA Chugach is a seriously badass shovel. Huge scoop, D-handle and oval shaft is rad. Good luck fitting it in your average daypack but it really moves a shit load of snow in a hurry. Hyakbc replied to the topic Keep Hurricane Ridge open year round! HELP! in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 14 years, 2 months agoHurricane rules. Thanks for the heads up. Hyakbc replied to the topic are the new burton splits up to snuff? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 14 years, 2 months agoSchwalbster, I can’t see the picture. Can you describe what you did? Hyakbc replied to the topic Tightening nose clips in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 15 years agoBurton has an awesome warranty. I returned my S168 for the tip/tail clip problem and they overnighted a new board. The new board has bushings on the clip pegs. Will have to wait and see if that solves the problem or if the clips will wear out as an earlier post suggested. The new board has a gap between the board halves at the tail but I’m not…[Read more] Hyakbc replied to the topic James Peak, Starlight Couloir, 4/21/07 in the forum Colorado 15 years, 1 month agoWas that a jester hat I saw in the video? Hyakbc replied to the topic Tightening nose clips in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 15 years, 2 months agoDamn. My S-168 does the same thing. Nose/tail clips come undone constantly. Really annoying. Fix myself or warranty? Hmmm. You might be pleasantly surprised by their outstanding customer service. Hyakbc replied to the topic 17 Ounces of insurance? Or dead weight? in the forum The Gear Room 15 years, 5 months agoFire starting is a thread unto itself. Dryer lint stored in a film canister is good tinder and weighs little. I’ve started packing a Jetboil. Heat soup and torch the forest if you like. Invaluable above treeline. Hyakbc replied to the topic Dupraz D1? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 15 years, 5 months agoVery cool. I’ll take you up on the try before buy. Check your PM’s. That quiver pic raises other questions. How do you like the Mullet and would you switch up to a 160 fish? Hyakbc replied to the topic Dupraz D1? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 15 years, 5 months agoHey thanks for the info. I would be happy to buy your board if you decide to sell. What color is the topsheet? I’m actually trying to find one of the older red or black boards. The new graphics aren’t doing it for me. How does the board ride anyway? I’m just going off the website hype. Does it slay the pow and carve the groomers like they say or…[Read more] Load More
