Did we ever decide if hardboots are better than soft boots?

What’s up guys. Sounds like October will provide enough snow for some turns! Getting stoked. Travis Rice film tomorrow.

Great thread! It really hits home, as I spend way too much time dreaming and tinkering with different setups.I’ve also been through several setups. From popup to slide in to trailer, now back to a tent. My short bed tundra just sucked for the slide in, and I really don’t like pulling a trailer if I can avoid it. Especially in winter. Salomon is making a touring boot akin to the TLT6. The “explore” model could be a contender for modification. A bit heavier then the TLT 6 but has a similar touring mechanism.

Nice write up Taylor.
Yes, too much on the heelside can be an issue (notably on hard surfaces). That is one reason I stuck with the dynafit boot for easy mod of the rear. The One liners are nice too, I’ve left mine stock. I plan on slotting the forward lean down a titch for the rear and maybe getting rid of the spoiler too.

I am also in the “view new posts” user category, that’s the only way I navigated the old site. Drilling down into each category and sub category is not going to happen for me. Losing snowsavage and other prolific TR posters would be a real shame.

Snapped this thing stepping into a hole in some rocks while in tour mode. They sent out a replacement but I’ll need to figure out how to rivet it on there.

First day on the free ride 173 1.0 solid today. Resort is tracked out and groomed. Not sure what everyone’s beef is with this on groomers. While it does require more input on hard pack this thing rails huge turns, traverses like a machine and has insane edge hold on ice. Not the best for one footing it or quick turns through bumps but I’m…[Read more]
