If you can take a look at it before purchase to make sure the lens is in good shape and the body doesn’t look beat up that is ideal. Some folks like to see how many shutter actuations a camera has had to get an idea of how much use its seen. Not sure how that applies with MLCs. I hear good things about…[Read more] ehcarley replied to the topic Mirrorless Camera Suggestions in the forum Photo & Video 8 years, 2 months agoI’m going to try to explain some of the confusing terminology of photography so you know what the jargon means. I’m hoping this helps you make a choice, if you already are familiar with all of this, sorry. To be able to adjust most of this you will need a camera with manual controls available. So, if you want to shoot in low light you need to be…[Read more] ehcarley replied to the topic Win a GoPole accessory! in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 2 months agoI understand why you would randomize the winners, but with a video contest, doesn’t it make more sense to actually go based on the quality of the video? I still don’t think I would have won, but maybe its something to think about for next time? Its not too hard to put up a poll and let forum users vote on it. ehcarley replied to the topic Win a GoPole accessory! in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 3 months agoWhats the word on that second winner? ehcarley replied to the topic Mirrorless Camera Suggestions in the forum Photo & Video 8 years, 3 months agoI’ve got an Olympus OMD EM-5 that I really like, but its focus tracking isn’t so good for action shots. The new EM-10 and EM-1 do that better, but I think the EM10 might be closer to your price range. The EM-5 and EM-1 are weather sealed, so you can take them out and not worry about snow or rain ruining the camera. Pretty small and light too,…[Read more] ehcarley replied to the topic Win a GoPole accessory! in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 3 months agoBump and another video. I made this video using my GoPro and a few other toys in Santiago Chile over two weeks around New Year’s eve. Talk about Murphy’s law though. Free software too. It doesn’t do a whole lot else though. I would post my most recent attempt, but its pretty boring, so I haven’t uploaded it. ehcarley replied to the topic Time Lapse – Getting Started in the forum Photo & Video 9 years, 6 months agoI’m learning this too. My preference would be to shoot RAW just for versatility in post. I can shop out any noise, adjust my levels to get the best images and then export them as JPGs out to my video editor. Of course, this depends on what kind of a computer you are working with, and whether or not you’ve got the juice to handle that much data…[Read more] ehcarley replied to the topic WIN A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD OF FURTHER! in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 9 years, 6 months agoI haven’t seen it yet either, but I’ll guess overhead blower pow in Japan. Can’t wait to see this. ehcarley replied to the topic Woodward Tahoe = pretty fun in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 9 years, 8 months agoI worked at the summer camp for Woodward at Copper this summer.
