Only a newbie would butt slide in a chute from a heelside turn gone wrong. Or maybe two newbies.

Andrew never writes anything unless it’s tongue and cheeck/sarcastic. I don’t know him but I imagine he’s that way in person as well. That’s part of what makes me like is writing over some of the other know-it-all bloggers out there. He gets mega turns in the most remote regions all over the world, he’s got no reason to whine about front…[Read more]

However, I’m not getting email updates when someone comments on a post. I am however getting emails letting me know that someone commented on my post 3 years ago.

I’m getting these emails as well. It’s driving me freaking crazy.

Cool to see a new system but the Burton system worked great at Trade Shows too. The true test is how it works with frozen snow crammed into the crevasses of the mechanism. Not saying it won’t work great on the mountain. I wish them luck.

Typically our season runs into July but this year we’re hoping to have a season at all. I would bet there will be no boarding in May this year.

Tahoe is a four hour or so drive from Fremont and Mammoth is probably 6 or 7. There are other areas a little closer than Tahoe but not that much closer and not near as good.

Congrats on the new job and move.

I will go solo but always try to scrounge up a partner first. And definitely tell my wife where I’m going and when I’ll be home. It’s definitely scaled back riding though. I truly enjoy the time alone in the mountains but also like to bro brah with my friends, ala SplitRippn–brah!

I haven’t seen the condition of your used skins so they may be spent. If they’re not, a common mistake new splitters do is get their skins wet during transitions. That is the ultimate sin. It doesn’t matter how old your skins are, do not lay them down on the snow. Make sure you take them from your ski to your pack and vice versa, right away.…[Read more]

Personally I find it too squirly and not worth the risk of knee injury – its why I never skied snow in the first place. Besides (and I realize I’m fortunate), most of the lines I frequent can be ridden boardstylee back to the trailhead or require actually skinning. :twocents:

Not that I’ve ever been, but if you want strip clubs take a shuttle to Reno. Getting a private dancer to come to your house is an option but as far as clubs go, SLT has nda mucho.

The casinos in SLT should be fun during that time of year, assuming the snow’s decent and the white trash from the Central Valley and Bay Area are heading up in droves.

You’ll have a good time. The best thing about Heavenly is no driving. Gondola from your hotel. Plus if the snows good you can bomb ob back to your room.

I don’t live IN Tahoe but my advice is just to make sure you don’t hit it on a holiday weekend (MLK, Presidents Day, etc.). Spring break is usually late March/early April so you should be fine the first week of March. Are you looking for BC or resorts or both? North or South Lake?

Congrats on getting hitched. Does she know what she’s…[Read more]

All I can say is that the film appeared to be and I was told, very personal and emotional for Ari. Besides, how do we know a few thousand $ is going to have a significant impact in Craig’s daughter’s life? Sometimes money is not worth the pain. I trust that Ari will do what’s best for himself and Craig’s family.

No offensive to Oregon, it’s a beautiful state with awesome outdoor recreation but…if your coming all the way from Aus why not go to the Wasatch, N. Cascades, E. Sierra, Tetons, BC, Canadian Rockies, Colo etc.?
