Hey all, I’m going to be in Bend with a buddy Monday and Tuesday night to go splitting. Hoping to find a floor we can crash on for those nights. Anyone available for that? It’d be much appreciated!

The partners that I have had with Karakoram that had to de-ice usually took more than ten seconds. But they did not have a tool for the job so it may have been a different process for them than it is for you with a scraper. Has anyone experienced issues with the Phantom interface becoming iced up at the transition? Seems like this could be an issue with the tight fit of the phantom. Can anyone speak to this?

Sure did 🙂 deepest pow day of my life today. Toured the east face out of sunrise lodge up to the summit. Cold smoke the whole way down. Also coldest day i’ve ever had in the mountains. I’m pretty convinced it didn’t get about 3 degrees all day and the summit felt like minus 10 with the windchill. Great day to be in the mountains.

Yes, if you are able to put it in a pocket that is near your base layer your body heat can help to keep it alive. Handwarmer would work too.

Did anyone get onto the sisters or broken top after the last snow fall? I know it’s still early but i figured someone may have made the plunge 🙂 got bachelor last friday which was holding mind blowing conditions and am hoping to come back for more this weekend.

I’m really interested in trying trying La Sportiva sideral. Tried them on and they felt really good with out any mods. Not to mention their low weight. Curious if anyone has had any success with this boot? +1 to more pics of the 3 piece split!

A friend and I were on the summit on friday and got some pretty amazing turns the whole way down! How was it on Saturday? Hoping to be up there again soon when the snow falls, lets meet up next time?

I’ve felt the same way the last couple years watching the insane skiing parts and feeling like there weren’t any riders comparing to their level of shred. I feel like skiers body position lends to a higher level of shred. For example, you cant back slap a landing on a 80 foot cliff mid line on a snowboard and ride away cleanly. Skiers can. To me, split skiing is an important skill that really takes your mountain travel prowess to the next level. I kinda got forced into it while touring with some really strong skiers that moved very quickly in the mountains.
