why do they have to “run” up the hill first and not start off splitting  i must be missing something.
It was only about 50…[Read more]

I’ve been using a tilopa for the past year-plus for everything from resort shooting to splitting and mountain biking. Highly recommended if you can afford the big price tag. the internal frame hugs your body instead of bouncing around like a big block of weight, as with other ones i used before. Definitely the way to go if it’s in your budget.

i did a bit of splitting around there a few years ago… definitely some big mountains with very, very few people around…

Saw the movie Tuesday in Denver at the Ellie Caukins Theater (newly remodeled), and it was awesome! Very fun night, lots of people dressed up, and lots of ladies. I was the only one there with a “Splitboarding is the answer” t-shirt though, Thanks to Will & Scrubfest! The new standard in Ski/Snowboard cinema if you ask me……

If you subscribe, just write in the comments box that you’d like to start with Issue #9.1 and it’ll go out asap. Also, use the promo code SPLITBOARD.COM and get a free frequency TSJ beanie, which will be in stock next week. Don’t think we have a shop in San Diego, as it’s generally targeted to snowy areas…

We went straight bushwack up the right side of the creek instead of dropping down to the bridge. Mud/slush skinning for a few mins… guessing it didn’t survive winter, unless it got buried before things started ripping big.
Colin replied to the topic Patagonia Snowboard Line – Dirksen, Shearer, and Bell in the forum The Gear Room 11 years, 11 months ago
I had a firsthand look at the stuff at SIA. Definitely a slightly baggier cut than their ski mountaineering gear, but still trim enough for touring. Definitely not low end and pretty simple aesthetics, gore tex, no extra pockets where you don’t need them and that kind of stuff that often comes with snowboard outerwear. I will probably be riding it…[Read more]

thanks. had been touring with the brackets and no shims in the winter, but was wondering with the chomps if the spacing would get weird… ended up using the shims and worked out fine, but not sure it was necessary.
