I’m assuming this thread was stimulated by the article today on tgr:
http://www.tetongravity.com/story/snowboard/approach-skis-energy-saving-or-bullshitthey had some funny comments on the facebook page too… plenty of approach skis vs. split hate and skier vs. snowboarder hate.

It’s not looking like I will get out on this board anytime soon, we need more snow. I did ride the chair yesterday with my kids at Wolf Creek, boney but still the…[Read more]

I just might be free those exact days… I was planning on the San Juans though, anyone have any experience with these huts:

Anyone care to weigh in on the twinberg, thoughts?
The 165 Twin with 15m scr sounds pretty cool on paper. The 16m radius on previous 162’s is about right for resort riding, but has been limited to one length. Now with 3 sizes, it should open the door to lots of riders…plus womens boards. Did you ever try the…

The original version fully rockered furbergs are just a tad too loose riding in some conditions for me to consider them “perfect”. We will just have to ride the new furbergs to see how well they really do.

FYI they have both style of G3 skins for splitboards, but only in long, which advises 168cm+ length board.
Anyone know if I’ll be able to attach em to a 165 or 162 without having to cut and remount the tail connector?
No idea but at that price I’d cut them if needed and put Spark tail clips on.

I’m down in NM, riding mostly Taos and Santa Fe but spent a lot of time this season at Monarch riding lifts with the family. Definitely want to split the pass next season. I also do a fair bit of splitting on Wolf Creek pass and even some in the Durango Silverton area.

It’s Albuquerque, about 4 and a half hours. It’s not really a large, more a midsize airport.
