looks like this thread is all but dead. any riders still around who are in northern idaho?

Looks like we have a nice storm on our doorstep. Already have over an inch in east layton. Monte cristo snowtel is reporting 12inches. Looks like it might be another more northern dump at least with this first wave. Sounds like lake effect is going to play a big part. Anyone planning on getting out? :headbang:

I thought I saw a few guys slogging their way up the steep stuff on the john paul side. I almost considered catching on to your skin tracks but I was a bit to tired from going up top. Was it as deep over there as it was below middle bowl?

I got out yesterday to snowbasin. Hit the upper parking lot about 930, it was dumping snow. probably 2.5 feet in spots at that elevation. 😯 alright, I am DEFIANTLY going out tomorrow! I will be solo if anyone up north wants to join.

I drove past the snowbasin area yesterday and in to the ogden valley. They got dumped on. nws SNOTEL is reporting almost 1.5 inches of water at the benlomanId site. Sad to see this happen. We have some seriously iffy conditions this year, and it won’t be getting much better. That itch to get the good riding is hard to deny. Its low angles and and trees for me this year.

Just another reason to avoid the cottonwoods like the plague when the season starts. Tex has got it right, mostly.. Anywhere north of slc has some great riding potential, you just have to work a little harder to get there.

went to LCC yesterday, got some great early season turns. only ran into a few people, and they were gone by noon. only hit one rock spot, because I am an idiot and got out on a sun exposed lower elevation rock band..

they got hammered last night, a bit of rain mid night so might have a wicked crust already. But looks like another 12-18 inches by tomorrow morning! Hoping to get out tomorrow morning myself.
