Solid input guys.
We’ve got 3 in our group that are in for sure and 1 or 2 that would prob also join, so I think we’ll be a full group of 4 or 5.
I think we’ve got basically two options:
1 – AK heli, Executive Ski Bum deal looks like a pretty solid option for almost a week of heli at less than $4k…[Read more]CascadEagan replied to the topic 11/7 – 11/8/14, Mt. Hood, West Crater in the forum Trip Reports 8 years, 6 months ago

Jerk – I would love to make a trip down to the eastside. Will def be on the list for this spring.
Snowsavage – I’m glad we’re on the same page. Snow will be stacking up soon and we’ll all have to make decisions in the mountains. I plan to ride another 1000+ days in my life and I remind myself of that every time I consider dropping into a big…[Read more]

Wow, that was sick. I like your go-light alpine approach and have now added ‘straw’ to my packing list. I feel like I’m going to see everyone in the mountains with a straw from this point forward.
Great video edit. I’m wondering if this whole area is melted out or if there’s any riding left to be done down there.

Yeah it does look funny in that picture doesn’t it. I’m out of town, when I get back I’ll check out the stance and angles.

Rad trip!
That’s an area I was hoping to explore but haven’t at all this year.
I imagine it only has a few weeks left..CascadEagan replied to the topic Chile & Argentina, ~10.08-10.09 in the forum Split Partners Wanted 9 years ago
If you fly into Buenos Aires, here’s charter flight info from there to Las Lenas. I don’t know price yet.
– Departing flight leaves Buenos Aires at 6:30 AM on Saturday, August 30; arrives in Malargue at 8:40 AM
– Return flight departs Malargue at 9:20 AM on Saturday, September 6; arrives in Buenos Aires at 11 AMCascadEagan replied to the topic Chile & Argentina, ~10.08-10.09 in the forum Split Partners Wanted 9 years ago
I’m planning Argentina or Chile sometime around Aug 23rd – Sep 6th. Most info online seems sparse and half written in spanglish so I’m having some trouble nailing down specifics. It seems like a lot of resorts only offer “ski week,” an all inclusive week of lodging, food and riding. I would prefer a flexible schedule that could accommodate some…[Read more]

Wow! Really glad you all came out alive!
What was the avy danger rating that day? Did you observe any other slides or just the cracks?
I’d be interested in your reflection back on the slide and what lead to your decisions. Thanks for sharing what you have, I imagine the entire thing has been difficult.

This is an old thread, but I need to add something. My GF has G3 skins from 2 years ago. She’s used them 8 times, and after about the 3rd use the glue has been a nightmare. It always sticks to the board and more and more is ruining the descent. I have to clean the board every time we use them.
The skins have been stored in the same place as my…[Read more]
CascadEagan replied to the topic Snowboarders sue to ride with skiers at Alta resort in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 9 years, 4 months ago
Has anyone ever gotten on the alta lifts in split/tour mode and then assembled and ridden down in board mode?
I would really enjoy seeing some snowboarding at alta this winter, especially with all the attention these blue blood, old school, elitists are getting.
Maybe a coordinated split board attack on alta?
