Thanks HansGLudwig and Permnation, these are good leads.
I am surprised black diamond lineup has no 3 segment poles aside from the whippit. in years past they did, right? Were these replaced by the “Compactor” series?
Perhaps the compactor bottom will fit in a longer upper.Still reading up on Permnation’s links.

I am lanky, i like long poles. I had a set of Leki “snowshoe” poles from the mid 90’s that just bit the dust. I used them almost exclusively for 12 years (when they were not broken). They were the only pole of 160cm i could find. They did not pack down as well as i would like, but great baskets and long. When skinning up i am almost always…[Read more]

Thanks but, with a stance angle as i have (60 to 80 degrees depending on the board) the cant needs to lift the toe in the front and raise the heel in the back. The cants i see on your website and in those photos only work if you have a skater stance near 0 degrees on each foot (90 deg to the board edge). I am glad you make these plates as cant…[Read more]

…The best plate binding I have found for split boards that I have used is a modified Burton Race plate binding.
Same Idea that I had with the bomber but much easier and very light.
1)Take the toe/heel pieces off of a Burton Race Plate
2) Determine where you want your foot to fit on the voile plate. Easiest way is to take the…cadmus replied to the topic Bomber Splitboard binding in the forum Bindings 15 years, 1 month ago

I attempted to mount the toe and heel pieces to a voile slider plate.
Two problems:
1) The holes in the toe/heel pieces and the holes on the slider plate don’t match up. No biggie you just need to enlarge the holes on the slider plate until you can mount the…cadmus replied to the topic Bomber Splitboard binding in the forum Bindings 15 years, 1 month ago
Wow 😯 thats a lot of negative talk/speculation about the only binding i trust with my body. I will tell you why… 😉
What i have used or examined:
+I have looked at most generations of the voile plate bindings (rode only 1)… all use plastic and thin metal wires.
+I have used the first generation of the Bomber Trench Digger Plate…[Read more]cadmus replied to the topic carver stance angle pucks in the forum DIY and Mods 15 years, 1 month ago

Plastic Pucks:
I used a table saw to cut out the profile in the HDPE, it was really easy. countersunk the holes only a little. well >1/4″ of material was left. They ripped out on the first run. I wasn’t sad, it was the prototype and i was at a resort. If you do this buy long pieces and take long rips it is safer using bigger pieces…[Read more]cadmus replied to the topic carver stance angle pucks in the forum DIY and Mods 15 years, 2 months ago
the tour bracket is in the way. if i had made it of slightly thicker material i might have squeezed the plates over/between. I bought thicker stock but my hope was to make a cant plate but that would exacerbate the problem. Yet again a project i almost finish and then realized a bluntly obvious short coming in my idea.
I can get 48deg on the…[Read more]

Yeah, that is the logic i was limited to because i have never been trained in all the crazy characteristics plastics have across a range of temperatures (where’s Fin?). ABS is what the Voile uses for those rotating pucks. It’s probably what I will do now that i…[Read more]
