Jeremy,
Glad you having the event again, I am going to have to hold off on committing the funds for a while, if there’s a spot for me then great. I am also willing to take some scrubs on some tours in the Tetons.
Luca brasi, I have a rock freeride 166 if that works for your girl to barrow, but I am not selling the early season splitter.
brg replied to the topic Anyone seen TGR's "Re: Session"? How much boarding footage? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 13 years, 7 months ago
I saw it at the premier, I don’t think there is any snowboarding in it this year, JJ was working on deeper and he is usually the main snowboarder. Its still a good flick better than last years.

I watched the episode on the web the other night, I never knew Ben, but after watching the episode I recoginzed some of his friends. A couple of which followed my bootpack up teewinot last may, they ended up kicking the last 1500 feet and we all rode down together. Although I did not know Ben, I know he ran with a crew of badasses. I hope…[Read more]

Thanks for the suggestions.
PJ, I learned a few lessons in my day, you need to devote of enough time to leisure so that you don’t feel rushed. It would be bummer if I drove all the way to shasta and had bad weather for 5 of the seven days I was there. So I have learned that you should take as long as you can afford both with time off and cash…[Read more]

Sparks, no questions asked.
I was fairly new to splitboarding when the sparks came out, but I rode on the slider plates with burton bindings for 2 years, once i was able to get a set of sparks it made the whole experience much more enjoyable. some of these guys had to ride with those slider plates for a decade before something better came…[Read more]

speedy, glad to have you on the site. I am very interested in the kooteneys and selkirks and brittish columbia in general. I am really trying to get up to that area this January. Would you be interested in showing me around? Please keep us posted snow conditions through out the season.
brg replied to the topic Help: Good backpack for backcountry? in the forum The Gear Room 14 years, 7 months ago
I rock both of the north face packs, one is a 22L and the other is 35L, The north face has the best board carry system I have seen. Both of them lack back panel access but i don’t have to much trouble getting my stuff out so long as i think about its placement. The both have good internal organization ie. bladder storage, avy eq. storage,…[Read more]

wysplit, good luck with it. I was looking at skiing gannet about a month ago but my weather/work window faded. What route are you going in from, I think its upwards of 20 miles through titcomb and the glacier route I think is 24 miles. I hope he trip goes well, lighten that pack up as much as possible.

Mumbles 5k of vert is some serious stuff, I am in good shape I have been spent somewhere near one hundred days in the backcountry this season and 5 k still kicks my ass. I don’t like to lap slopes so if I do 5k its a big mountain all the way up in one shot.
On a side note I noticed on this TR and the last one you posted with jon dahl your decent…[Read more]
brg replied to the topic ice ax or whippet for self arrest ? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 15 years ago
I ride with an axe when the exposure is great on steep lines. I find the axe to be more useful than a whippet. My bd poles work fine if its not to steep once it gets steep I like the axe. If the snow is soft enough that I can edge if i were to fall then I don’t ride with the axe if I think i could slide for life 2000′ i have my axe in hand. Its…[Read more]
