Inner boa is the shit. I wish Fitwell’s had inner boa. I’m looking to move away from K2 T1’s as my resort boot. I’ll definitely give the 32’s a look. And they’d be good for most backcountry stuff and I can keep my Fitwells on the shelf except when I need something more gnarly. Curious how stiff the sole and toe box is (for kicking steps and…[Read more]

“I would recommend starting here: https://bbpress.org/forums/
Create an account, ask questions about the things you want to change, share your findings. :)”
And now the posts are getting all mixed up and shown in the incorrect order on this thread. Yeah, everything is smoooooth. Why would I want to ask questions on a forum about making a…[Read more]

I’m not complaining about the look. I’m complaining about the functionality. And I don’t know how to fix it, that’s why I’m complaining.
And get rid of the topo contour lines taking up 1/3 of the page.
And more posts per page please. Like up to 30 would be good.
And get rid of the advertisements taking up what little space there is for trip…[Read more]BGnight replied to the topic Countdown to the splitboard.com forum conversion. in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 2 months ago
No, I’m with you. I sympathize with Chris’s situation, but it’s no reason for the entire interstate/intercontinental splitboard community to be torn apart. This site has died because of this conversion. I only check on here once a week and I’m always disappointed. I get all my riding stoke and beta on facebook or TGR, etc… Plus, I’m not exactly…[Read more]

“Jones Snowboards Carbon Solution split 158 weighs in at 2.9 kg / 6.39 lbs. which is the same as the 158 Solution but the ride characteristics are much different.”
This confuses me. My 2015 161 Carbon Solution is well over a pound lighter than my older 161 Solution.

I have 290’s and they fit a 10.5 US foot perfectly.

I’m on my 2nd pair. They rock. Although I did have my first ice up failure in 2 seasons of use, luckily at the top of an ascent (it was a stormy day and I was being sloppy letting them touch the snow). But the next time I went out my buddy had an icing failure on a set of Voile’s and he had to post hole up the entire mountain side and dry them out…[Read more]

How do you have $1100 invested? This isn’t more than $900 worth of gear with the crampons retail.

Saw that this morning. Bummer we already have a PWL developing, but whatever, I’ll take the snow. I’m gonna make my first tour of the season tomorrow near Mt Rose just to test out some new gear, stretch the legs and lungs, and poke around in the snow. I probably won’t be riding much. Don’t really feel like getting worked by an avy in low tide.…[Read more]
BGnight replied to the topic Toe/Heel Drag Allowance (hardboots and softies) in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 3 months ago
Fyi to new fitwell owners who run K’rams. I ride boards with a 25.2cm waist with 10.5(290) fitwells and the way the boot fits in the heelcups I had to go to a small heelcup on my old Superlights as to not have too much heel drag (it’s perfect with smalls as the width of the binding is really the same so no need to worry about room for the boot).…[Read more]

BGnight replied to the topic Anybody have problems with Intuition Liners? in the forum Boots 8 years, 3 months ago
I recommend the luxury liners as they have laces. I love mine. I just ordered my size (can’t remember but they turned out to be the correct size) and I just shoved them the shell and started skinning. I don’t bother heat molding them. You don’t need to. One thing to consider is there really isn’t much room for an insole of any kind that could fit…[Read more]

Thread drift: it’s funny cuz a long time ago I really wanted to invent something similar to the BGT plates. They are intriguing. And according to specs they are over a full pound lighter, per pair, than verts. However, I never bring crampons and verts(plates) on the same trip. Too redundant. And the BGT plates alone don’t look like they’d bite…[Read more]

I agree with Barrows on the intuitions.
Fitwell with an intuition inner BOA would be ideal for me. Regardless, they need to team up with intuition and give people options. Of course, I already own a pair now and won’t need to worry about this for at least 4 or 5 years as the shell should last a long, long time 😀I have a lot of buddies ask me…[Read more]

I bought the first generation of Fitwells via an Italian site and with customs and shipping I paid less than $550. Now I see you can buy them on their U.S. site for $635?!! 😯 That’s outrageous. As much as I like my boots, there’s no way I’d pay this as I find it mandatory to replace the stock liner with an Intuition Luxury liner (the best…[Read more]
BGnight replied to the topic My mini-review of the Dakine Altidude 40L ABS pack in the forum The Gear Room 8 years, 4 months ago
Nice. I decided I’m getting the new version of this pack with an ABS base unit. I looked at about 10 different ABS compatible packs and I came down to this and the Osprey 42L kode (only a few had the bigger capacity I was looking for) I was leaning toward the Osprey until I realized the backpack itself is 1.7 lbs heavier than the DaKine!…[Read more]
