What a bummer. Sorry. Hope that didn’t end your season.
Looks to me as if the topsheet cracked and delaminated as the board folded during a heel turn. Note that the crack follows where the edge of where your binding would be, and originates and is most severe along the heel edge. It’s likely a combination of poor construction and…

If you’re sizing a lot up, say from a 159, it will feel awkward at first. Especially if the larger board is much stiffer than you’re used to. Are you sizing up much?
But in the end, smaller and less stiff will be more nimble and playful. Bigger…[Read more]

ALias, – what you mean is that you were a pioneer in the spoon shaping and concaves for extra drive. My first board was a bit wavy (all good) until the last foot and then it got real wiggly, it still rips on a good day in Utah though!
Hahaha yep- let’s go with that!

I have learned in my 2 and a bit years of board building that you always have to be willing to scrap it all to make improvements.
Once you work out how to fix a certain problem you cant get in the mindset of “Ive put too much time and money into this to throw it all away”. That just results in more heart break as you continue to…aliasptr replied to the topic Any companies that do fully custom boards? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 11 months ago

Alias-there’s nothing wrong with that press for custom work, no need to go overboard for a few boards a year or a board each season. In fact if it deflects evenly on each half (above and below) which it looks like it more or less would, it should produce good results as long as you base is flat edge to edge or close…aliasptr replied to the topic Desert Pow in the Unknown Range 4/6/14 in the forum Trip Reports 8 years, 11 months ago

At a reasonable cost…
In other words, if I could build/buy my own press and acquire the minimum tools for three or four times the cost of a custom board, its not reasonable IMO.
And by custom I mean no one makes anything quite like it…
Oz snowboards might do full customs but I’m not sure.
