Introducing the Lupin Twin solid and splitboard models
WHISTLER, Canada – January 25, 2012 – Whistler based Prior Snowboard Manufactory Ltd, known throughout the world as manufacturers of premium, handcrafted snowboard’s and skis, is pre launching the new Lupin Twin (in Solid and Splitboard options), the world’s first twin tip splitboard for women on March 1, 2012.
“We were getting several requests for women wanting a twin tip solid and splitboard,” said Sales and Marketing Manager, Gus Cormack, “we have listened and the Lupin Twin is the result.”
The Lupin Twin shape gets inspiration from Prior’s popular All Mountain Freestyle (AMF) Men’s board, except with several key differences. While it still has the twin shape and proven hybrid rocker profile, the Lupin Twin’s generous sidecut, narrower waist and flex pattern designed for women’s physiques create a board for women to take their riding to the next level.
“Most women start riding twin tip boards as this style is extremely versatile for park, pipe, powder or all mountain riding,” explained Prior Founder and Board Designer, Chris Prior. “We set out to make a high performance women’s twin tip board that would allow intermediate and advanced gals to push their limits all over the mountain. The result is the Lupin Twin. Not surprisingly, we also found this is a great board for smaller males.”
Handcrafted with the same quality materials and high standards as the other Prior snowboards, the Lupin Twin is made with sandwich construction and has a full aspen/maple wood core, sintered graphite diecut base and UHMW sidewalls and full wrap Rockwell 48 hardness steel edges. On solid boards triaxial fiberglass with a centered 10 count carbon stringer is used. On the splitboard version, customers can choose between quadraxial fiberglass with 10 count carbon stringers thru the center of each board half, or they can upgrade using Prior’s new XTC carbon construction which shaves an average of 600 grams off of splitboard weight. As with other Prior boards the Lupin Twin is available in a variety of topsheet and base graphics and a one year warranty. It retails for C$699 for the solid board $899 for the quadraxial splitboard version or $1099 for the split with XTC Carbon Construction.
