FreeRider To Have Its World Premiere at The 7th International Free Ride Film Festival in St-Lary-Soulan, France
December 1, 2011, Edmonds, WA – This evening, in Toulouse, France, the organizers of the 7th International Free Ride Film Festival in Saint-Lary-Soulan announced that Crest Pictures’ latest film FreeRider is one of sixteen films to be screened at this year’s competition. During the three-day event, being held December 8-10, an international panel of judges, presided over by pro skier Dimitri Charriere, will view the films and hand out special awards.
The Free Ride is a popular festival that attracts a large crowd, and kicks off the ski and snowboard season in this picturesque village, situated at the foot of the beautiful Pyrénées mountains. There will be freestyle ski and snowboard demonstrations on the nearby slopes as part of the festivities, as well as concerts and other cultural events.
FreeRider features splitboard mountaineer Kyle Miller, who will be on hand to present the film on behalf of Crest Pictures. It will be a fun time for all so if you’re on the continent head on over there and say bonjour to Kyle.
Crest Pictures wants to thank Bruno Delaye and the judges for inviting FreeRider to this prestigious film festival. We are excited and honored to be included in their selections.

About Crest Pictures
Crest Pictures is the vision of husband and wife team Robert and Kathy Chrestensen. We choose to produce nature films outside the box – films with an artistic bent. Our approach gives the viewer a “walk in my footsteps” perspective – of being there, in the moment and experiencing nature on a personal level. We strive to capture the true spirit of nature so our audience can connect with the wildness that still exists within us all. We aspire to evoke feelings of respect and appreciation for the natural world and send a message for wilderness protection. Our hope is that the viewer will be moved to embrace the role of nature’s steward, not its conqueror. Crest Pictures aims to maintain the highest degree of quality, beauty, and integrity in their films.
Additionally, we are passionate advocates for Leave No Trace ethics. We practice the seven principles – to prevent or minimize our impact while traveling in the backcountry. As producers of films that may encourage wilderness adventure, we feel a deep obligation to promote LNT and will do so at every opportunity. Before you venture out, please take the time to learn how to Leave No Trace.
