Without a doubt, buying a splitboard is a big investment. Because it’s such a large investment, many riders spend their time geekin out on specs, asking questions, and listening to people’s opinions. After all of this research, the majority of people end up making their splitboard purchases sight unseen. Let’s face it, the local shop will likely have a couple splitboard models, but more often than not, they don’t have the one you’re considering. For those who are fortunate enough to attend a Splitfest, they will may have the opportunity to fondle some splittys, and possibly take one out for a slide.

The folks at Chimera Backcountry Snowboards and Pallas Snowboards understand that they can’t make it to every splitfest, and know they are not available at your local retailer. If you’ve been considering a Chimera, or Pallas splitboard, they are offering their “Ride, Then Decide” demo program. They will ship your requested splitboard directly to you. If you like it after you ride it, they’ll cover the shipping. If the board is not for you, ship it back and all you pay is the shipping.

It’s nice to demo a board on your home terrain / in a familiar setting, where you can feel a little more comfortable testing out new equipment.       -Steph Nitsch Founder of Pallas Snowboards

While the program is not meant to be a rental service, it’s a great opportunity for riders to see how these hand built boards perform. Contact Chimera and Pallas for additional details.

Chimera and Pallas splitboards are hand built in SLC, Utah.
