The splitboard race was Saturday afternoon and I was really impressed with the turnout. Bend, Oregon has a strong splitter community and it was cool to see so many stoked riders. I liked the format of the race too.

The race started near the top of the derby course with a 50 yard sprint to the downhill section. Riders then strap in and Chinese downhill an open slope to the bottom of the derby course. From there riders transition to skins and ascend along side of the derby course. At the top riders transition back to ride-mode and descend the derby course. Fastest spitter wins!

Sunday is race day for Groms, Elites, Sit-ski, and Tyler.

Hiromi Tatsumi and the rest of the sit-skiers (boarders) killed it, Tyler’s run was awesome too.

The smiles say it all!

A couple of the Elites.

Josh Dirksen takes the traditional closing run.

Special thanks to Josh, Mt Bachelor, and our friends that put us up. See ya soon Bend!
