Mt Bachelor open to splitboarders Mon-Wed in May!

Well, not technically but maybe... They are "unsure" of their position on this as of yet. But they just announced their latest plan to screw over their local pass holders by cutting their operating days to Thursday thru Sunday all through the month of May. Maybe good news for splitters looking for some sure to be had late spring pow turns in the Central OR Cascades!

Through May 27th
The Sunrise parking lot and normal eastside Summit route will be closed. A temporary Summit climbing route will be open on the westside - up Leeway run from West Village and then up West Ridge to the summit. The westside Summit hiking route will be open according to this schedule:

Thursdays-Sundays - open during the ski area's published lift operating hours (either 9am-2pm or 8am-1pm) ONLY IF THE SUMMIT LIFT IS OPERATING. If the Summit lift is closed due to weather, then so is the Summit climbing route.
Mondays-Wednesdays - open without restrictions until 12:00pm each Wednesday. After 12:00pm on Wednesdays, no hiking or uphill travel will be allowed due to grooming and slope maintenance activities.

I went up last wednesday and it was awesome to be able to access whatever. I saw no one. Kinda surprised no one was hiking the parks. I can't imagine all the jibbers in bend have passes.

Got a couple laps last week. Looks like June powder this week!? 4"-8" tonight, 1"-2" tomorrow, partly sunny on Wed!

Still good, although they now have camps going for the rest of June (based out of West Village Lodge). Had some more new snow to ride last weekend!
