Taking 3 months off from work this winter helped me have the best snowboard season I have ever had. Knowing I had to start work again May 1st I wanted to get out and explore some new terrain before getting stuck back to the schedule of a working square. I decided to spend my last free weekend with a good buddy of mine in Bend with easy access to a variety of options in central Oregon.
Thursday 4/26 we went to Tumalo Mountain. I didn't take any pictures this day because it was stormy the entire time except for the one run we took down the north bowl. There was only a couple inches of fresh snow but it was surprisingly good snow, I even scored a couple face shots .
Friday 4/27 we set off with our primary objective as Three Fingered Jack. Santiam Pass had reported 7 inches overnight so we knew it could be sick! The weather never really let up all day so we were unable to get onto TFJ but we scored some fun NWPow turns in the surrounding burn trees.

Saturday 4/28 I wanted to get out into some terrain around Diamond Peak that I'd been scheming on thanks to stoudema and his search for year round turns! We got a late start due to Friday night festivities and didn't hit the trailhead until around 1pm. With our late start and a 3.5 mile approach ahead of us I was skeptical of how the day would end up, but we managed to reach our objective and everything was groovy!

Sunday 4/29, I had to drive back to the Portland metro area and wanted to get out on a last tour in Santiam Pass before getting back to reality. Again with a late start and on a solo mission I picked an easy and obvious objective of Potato Hill. I have wanted to shred Potato Hill for the last couple of years because it is right off the road and is always lookin sick!

Sick video Morgan! Wish we could have hooked up on TFJ on Sunday - it was a great tour but a long day. Looks like you scored earlier anyway with some late season pow! Potato Hill was probably a good choice after 3 previous days of touring.
I agree with Chris - keep it up and make the most of the weekends! The snow will be here for awhile yet!

And Chris, I had to cut my hair and the padawan braid before going back to work. For some reason i feel the City of Lake Oswego's Finance department wouldn't have the same appreciation for it that you have...
