Hey, that cave drawing required all of my meager photoshop skillz! When you get a lawyer to set up your site and he pays for it with his own dough, i guess you get what you pay for...

anyway, my 2 cents is that the ad is still way too small in its print size to fit in all the stuff about forums, trip reports, etc.

Maybe the way to solve all of these problems is to say "Splitboard.com" in the same font as the logo, and then instead of "Future of BC Snowboarding", simply say "Splitboard Community" or "Backcountry Snowboarding Community"

Actually, I think the first shot is better. I like how the sky is the backdrop for you and the board. Frames the shot well.

I keep going back and forth on including the info on trip reports, forum, store. I guess it depends on the finished design but it's been said before, it's a pretty small add and needs to grab someone's attention. With too much detail it will only get scanned. I guess I lean towards less=more in this case.

I didn't like that one as much since the contrast between you vs. the snow is not as good as you vs. the sky.

Also have to agree that simpler is better, would be better to keep the same color theme throughout the ad, and adding text to the snow doesn't work with the grey/orange. Would have to use darker colors like the 2nd one below.

ps. Ask Chris what we call the rc.com logo in-house. Trust me, I'm being extremely polite compared to what we have nicknamed our masthead.

pps. I need to put the Couloir ad up tonite, but at some point in the near future I'll run ''edge detect'' on mmcpheet's Rad Air guy and see if we can't get something sick slapped together. I'll betcha we can.

There are others, but these are by far the best (worst) I've ever seen. They make the rc.com logo look like art...
