Anybody have recommendations for a weekend rental/demo? A buddy is going to check the event out as his first taste of BC oriented riding and prefers not to be on snowshoes
For sure, let's give it up to our sponsor. (Ahem). Next Adventure on SE Grand can hook you up. Talk to Chris, he'll set you up straight.
Ahh! Didn't realize they had rentals there, will let Dante know.
we currently have only 1 working rental split and its sick...a venture 159 helix w/ sparks and g3's.
i'm sure though we could scratch up enough peices to outfit more people, ive got an older voile 160 w/ sparks, we'd just need some of the hardware. gotta duct tape the skins on but it works.

Hey! Change of plans for me that weekend. Now 90% committed to this event. Sounds awesome.
ALSO, I HAVE A KEG SLED!
Built it for this past New Years from 2 old skis and some lumber. Hauled 2 kegs into an old ski lodge with no problems. Sure beats using a kayak...
This is the kind of event it was made for, though it will be a trail of tears to the top with a full 1/2 keg, that's a lot of elevation...
I think I may need to make a trailing brake like on the proper expedition sleds.
We were up at TJ last spring. Loaded our packs down and skinned up. Toured up past the Guard Station where some guys had snowmobiled in a feast. Jealous.
Looks like we're going to put that keg sled to the test -- the good folks at Laurelwood have donated a keg of their pale ale for our Splitfest. Beer for everyone!

actually, scratch that i have all the pieces.
extra skins would help so one wouldnt have to duct tape
Damn, I just sold the extra skins I had! Wonder if we can McGyver something with some Voile straps?
Mountaineers Books has donated a copy of Backcountry Ski & Snowboard Routes Oregon so make sure to show them some love, and there are a few other companies that may be kicking down some schwag as well...

Yeah, ShredOR and me might be down for Thielsen. Really want to get back there, I loved it. I'll check with him (and weather) and let you know.
Stoked you guys are making it up! Will be great to have ya. Keep in mind we may not be at the A frame until around 5pm on Friday, depending on how it goes with the keg sled... and whether we tap it on the skin track.

So is there any word on carpooling out there? I can drive, or throw in gas $$. I can head out anytime Friday AM, and live in NoPo. Will have one splitboard, and one keg sled.
Skins are a good idea. They may make too much drag, though... still working on a brake...
