welcome. I think an intro section is a good idea for new members. It would give people a chance to tell everyone about themselves and where they ride, and what set up they have. I know i would have liked a welcome to the forum, concidering how big a part of life split boarding has become for me.
I would recommend reading Bruce Tremper's book "Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain" a few times. Also, "Snow Sense" is a pretty good book too. But I like Tremper's better. I try and read through one of these every fall to get ready for the season.

Welcome. Get good at the search function. With 12,000+ threads, chances anything you want to know or have thought up has already been brought up. When we don't tap into the historical collective wealth of knowledge this just turns into facebook with splitboards. Besides, it's rad seeing five-year-old threads resurrected with new input.
