Skyler and I headed out last week to try out our new Grassroot Powsurfers. We didn't find any pow but discovered they work pretty well in the slush too. Good times and lots to learn...gotta start somewhere.
Skyler crossing the lake
About 2hrs of sunlight left Skyler gets down to business
First run, the kid is a natural...what can I say
He even found a mini jib
looks like he made it....
but not so fast, no bindings remember son
Back for more
Out of daylight, time to set up camp and make some dinner
home sweet home
Sky rode the resort all day before we headed out so he hit the sack early, my buddy Jack (Daniels) and I enjoy the view
Morning light
Time to go explore on the snowmos, the powsurfers are too wide for the CFR racks so this is what we came up with...pretty stable actually
Sky gives 'er a go
Has the drop at the beginning....
...but washes out
After a couple hours and a good amount of progression he succumbs to the shackles of his regular board
BC... I don't have chitlins, but your Pa and Son TRs definitely show me a great side of parenthood.

I love to see this. My son is 8 and i cant wait untll we can do this type of thing together. We are making a mini split for him, just because he wants to be like me and he is my best bud. To me, there is nothing better than being connected to my children and it is the greatest thing in life. my kids love snowboarding and its such a reward to see them get good at the things we both love and share together.

Cheers!
Agreed!
But be careful what you wish for or the "gift and the curse" will haunt you too.
I love the fact that Sky loves to snowboard but now that's all he wants to do. He recently told me he wants to be a "ski bum" and live in a van after high school so he can "shred" all the time. I can relate but I also desire him to have a career and create a life he can be proud of. We've been trying to sell him on getting a degree he can use to get a job in the industry so hopefully he'll listen but I can't help but wonder how his goals would differ if I would have never introduced him to snowboarding. I wouldn't change it, he's a great kid but as a parent you know how it is to want the best for your kids.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree as they say, haha....all I want to do is snowboard too!

I can literally feel the peace you had with your buddy Jack (Daniels) from the night shots. Excellent trip and beautiful nature great photos, wish I lived near such great places

Great to see you guys out on my boards! Of course EVERYTHING is better in fresh pow, but they are certainly good fun in the backcountry slush too. Stoked on the father/son team. My father is 65 years old, he taught me to ski at the age of 2 and how to snowboard at age 12. At Easter dinner last weekend he told me he is ripe and ready to hop on a Grassroots Powdersurfer and give it hell, and I'm super stoked to make that happen for him. It's payback time and I owe him big for putting me on the right path.
