Title says it all.

While the Jan/Feb high pressure was annoying, March has delivered.

Central Oregon b/c is going off right now and most of the bigger lines are good to go. We just don't have that "persistant weak layer" abound everywhere else. The surface wind slabs are predictable, manageable and good slope testers. We have a glued-in 11+ foot base and storms lined up for the next round. With the days longer and the chutes getting filled in, we're happy to be here.

If you're looking to get out and don't want to travel too far, it's here waiting for ya.

Some more well known spots around BT and Sisters, and some others a bit more South.

The newer denser snow is a bit of a concern, but you don't really have to stress about weak layers buried in the snowpack. Just deal with the new snow and keep an eye on the windloads. This heavier snow will calv off most likely but i would be surprised if it propped much.

Looks like someone shot a photo of a smaller crown in the Playground out at TAm. Check COAA site. That lil zone always loads/slides like that.

I was checking out that incident report you mentioned this morning. The report doesn't make it sound like anyone was caught though it was skier triggered. I was pretty close to heading to tam last weekend. Good to know the playground slides regularly.
