Skies turned blue for a brief opportunity to get after it. First objective is to scope Eddies South Face for some POW.

Hiking out and a look at the North Face of TinCan


Next is was on to something bigger. Plan was to go after Wolverine but our sunny forecast started with a thick cloud deck and we were contemplating what to do. After freezing in an empty motorized parking lot the sun started to show itself over TinCan first. We changed plans and headed up TinCan with our objective being a rib off of the North Face Proper summit.

Next we toured up the Eddies valley looking for a chute to climb. We settled on this one whose upper section measured 50 degrees.


On top of the ridge we get a closer view of our original objective which obviously came out of the clouds. We did notice some tracks on the route we were intending to ride which seemed to stop only a few turns into the line. On our climb there was some sun crusts as all south facing slopes got a good dose of sun exposure so we assumed they may have ran into something sketchy and took another route down and presumed we made the right decision today. But who knows we have our own chute to rip

BG, I know the Cali season has been atrocious, not all that much better here in Colorado, hate to say it, but perhaps it is time to think about the potential effects of climate change and whether we really can do anything about it.
It should be winter here, but we have an early spring right now, with frozen surfaces all 'round, and, perhaps if one gets lucky, the chance of finding softened snow on S facing lines with lots of sun. in March we should still be riding cold winter POW here in Colorado.

Good, it never hurts to be optimistic. Send that moisture along our way when you are done with it. Typically El Nino is good to us in April, and even May, so there is still hope.
