Edit: All set on an ice axe now.

As for the crampons, I'm looking for a steel 12-point (although I suppose I could deal with a 10-point) strap crampon that can fit a size 9.5 snowboard boot. The Petzl Vasak 'poons are exactly what I'm looking for, just out of my price range.


I'm also all ears if anyone has any leads as to where I could find these new for a decent discount (on sale, promo code, etc.).

Just google search what you want and add craigslist at the end. I got a sweet pair of grivel crampons for $50 out of colorado from craigslist.
