Glad to hear righty. Rock on. Don't mind my prying. It wasn't cement? Did it get tracked out? Trying to decide on the skin track or the resort tomorrow.

It wasn't blower by any means, but it was light enough for face shots and chucking buckets. It was definitely a sleeper day, I only rode until 10am and rode untouched lines every run. I'd imagine most resort lines were hit throughout the day. The higher you go, the more snow there is.

We should get another 5"+ throughout the day tomorrow. You probably can't lose with the resort or the skin track. You can always go on a tour from the resort...

Thanks for that. I was also thinking I will take both setups with me to smuggs. Maybe skin up the notch first light. I don't like ducking over to the pond from sterling because I have a pass and maybe I'm way wrong here but I feel like that's bad vibes.

I would have. Should've checked the blog last night. Rode smuggs this morn. I have to work at 10 tomorrow morn. Going to skin up the notch road. Want to be on trail by 6.

Hope the rest of you were able to get out and enjoy this weekend. Epic is the only way that I can describe it.

five tours in the past four days w/ 24-30" new... put a fork in me. pics to follow.

Lots of floaty, powdery goodness in the Mansfield area. Broke-trail/swam most of the way up to the Steeple trail on Sunday. Sadly, a couple of telemarkers were "drafting" in the skin track not far behind and scored the freshest lines. Gotta improve my changeover speed! The ride down was still heavenly, though. Was having waaaay too much fun to pull out the camera.

28" new in 48 hrs, thanks ullr. hours of breaking trail, miles from the lifts. had to stay on steeps, so deep. things should settle out pretty quickly, more snow wed-thur

Just heard that there have been some slides in the region. All the new snow isn't playing nicely with the old icy crust. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

very strong grauple showers were observed prior to the storm with reports of grauple pools at the bottom of chutes and in ravine bottoms in the notch. grauple can easily act as a weak layer. then 30"+ were added in about 30 hours. STRONG NW winds were seen as the storm pulled away. this transported even more snow onto the southern and eastern lee slopes, cross-loading many gullies with denser drifts. have yet to see any pictures of any true 'slabs' per say, but there was lots of loose snow moving on steep terrain. ive stayed away from mansfield massif recently with all the holiday traffic, but did observe lots of collapsing and whompfing in the jay periphery and also in southern MMSF on sat and sun. yesterday and today were much quieter w/ some settling and diminishing winds. sounds like no injuries in 3 seperate incidents/slides.
