Looks like it may snow sometime in the near future! I'm based in Truckee (new to town, transplant from Chicago as of July). I work remote or on the road so if I'm here, I'm down to go ride. Just took Avy 1, would love to learn more about the Sierras and the opportunities out here! Open to couch surfers if you need a place to crash in the Truckee area, but rest assured I'll be tagging along the next day.

It's snowing in the Alps! And Shasta! Snowing and snowing ALOT! Still have to get out and will soon but it fell on bare rock and it fell low and wet so access is difficult right now, well it's always difficult, but now it's wicked hard. I'll let ya know how it goes once I get out. And hopefully I'll get over to the Shasta side of things sooner than later.

Hello everyone in the land of unusually little snow,
I'm an experienced splitboarder and go-er who has been at the for 7 years and riding for 16 years, mostly in Alberta and BC. At the end of 2010 I moved to SF, and was wonderfully treated to some epic Tahoe-ness. This season being a different story, I managed to score some some new, seriously discounted gear and after coming back from a nice road trip to Silverton then Mount Baker, I'm itching to at least explore some new terrain in Tahoe and keep my mountain legs going.
As for partners, I'm looking for people interested in anything from a mellow day of powder exploration, to a spring corn outing, to a multi-day winter camp/hut trip on the hunt for cliffs, pillow lines, and couloirs.
I've got a 4wd Yota wagon too if that helps
I would also be down to meet for a beer before any trips if anyone's interested and lives in the Bay area.
Hope to hear from all of you mountain shredders soon, pray for a season!

Hey the season is on. Not much big mountan stuff but still fun. This was above Truckee and there's still some soft stuff but you have to search. http://vimeo.com/36524774

Hi - I am temporarily living in South Lake Tahoe (until late March). Looking for week-day split partners. Mellow stuff mainly, stretch the legs, work the lungs/heart and get away from the resort (and the long drive to them - i've got passes at Kirkwood & Alpine).
I've taken Aiare Level 1, been out touring about 20-25days in total.
