I was thinking about Tilly Jane. As the forecast stands now, tom dick is slated for rain on thurs to fri evening.

I just got off from Tilly Jane. Snowing pretty good up there. Great, soft turns.

I'll probably be out there again tomorrow, not early as I'd like as I have to run some much needed errands, but am considering camping at the cabin. One of my tele buddies will be rallying out with me as well.

I would say ideally, I'll be up there around 10am or noon at the latest.

Probably see you fellas there. 320-267-2471

Yeah, getting up high is probably good. I just checked the report for SkiBowl and it looks like rain thurs/friday morning, but then turning to snow midday on friday. We can keep an eye on the forecast and go whereever it's good. Does Saturday work?

The snow at Tilly Jane this am was starting to harden up near the climber's hut. Trees were still nice. When we transitioned it was starting to grapple/mist on us with heavy winds.

We triggered a slide in the Pollallie bowl yesterday. Good sized wind slab ripped off....around 30', with a solid crown. Thankfully my buddy was able to side cut most of it and was fine. You'll see it if you're in the area.

Also: We noticed an earlier track, coming down from the spur then dropping into the pollallie bowl. So who was it? :)

yeah the avy conditions out there yesterday were a bit touchy.

i propagated a slide from the bottom, and it started cracking higher and higher up. cracked about 75 feet wide and 10 inches deep, ran for 100 feet or so. the debris was about three feet thick. luckily there was a small ridge separating that face from the rest of the canyon wall because it could have got nasty.

it was on a northwest facing slope in a pocket of wind deposited snow.

was amazing blower snow out there yesterday morning though.

Hey team,
Thinking of cruising Tom Dick and Harry for the first time today. Any thoughts on avy danger up there, don't have my gear quite yet. Is there decent tree coverage? Or any other recommendations? Hopefully starting around 10:30.
Thanks guys!

ShredOR and myself were out at Newton canyon for seconds today. It's still fluffy soft pow in the trees. I highly recommend avoiding the open face. I saw some natural slides probably from loading and the wind. The area close to the trees was packed cement powder. The face towards the resort is wind effected and icy, especially farther in towards Heathers canyon. Be safe out there.

Thanks a lot everyone,
Skinned up Tom, Dick, and Harry yesterday and it was a beautiful day. Good snow base, lots of powder, a few tracks and friends - super good time.
The rain is coming early, but hopefully more snow in a few days.
