Got the RV parked up in Rogers Pass now for the next few weeks,we spent most of January riding trees in stormy conditions,so we were stoked to get some nice weather and get out for a walk, also it was awesome to finally get those boot packing muscles working and ready for AK. Snow was pretty sketchy at the top,but we found some nice pockets of pow, great day all around
Wilkez dropping some layers,snowboarder style...

Yeah I tied mine off pretty good and took forever to get them undone at the top,I think just tucking them in under the bottom of pants works,we are both on new boots(Mutes) and had not worn these crampons with them before,so had a couple of blowouts, your never gonna get a perfect fit with soft boots as you know,so I just whale on the things as crampons coming undone mid bootpack breaking trail on ice is scary!
To get them full tight you need to pull away from the boot and then reef back across the boot the other way to sort of cinch it down, then tuck in the end or tie off tens times to get rid of trailing end

tucking them into the pants works if you can't find a spot to loop them through on the crampons. and after puncturing my pants once, I found a new use for voile straps - cinching around the lower pant leg.
