I recently bought a pair of small G3 splitboard skins for my size 159 board (an old Voile). G3 says the small fits boards between 145 - 159. When I put them on my board, though, they barely reached the tail of the board. The tail clip/connector would have to be extended almost to the end of the rubber tail strap. Seemed like there were way too small, so I returned them (before cutting them up).

I just picked up a pair of the mediums thinking they would be a better fit, but now I'm wondering if they're too long. Here are some pics:

The G3 skins provide plenty of coverage and the skins themselves don't seem too long. What I'm worried about is the tail clip/tail strap. Will that thing stretch out? If so, I might be screwed down the road.

Thoughts?

i think you would be good with either of them, i like the tail strap longer so its easy to grab with gloves.

mine are on the third or forth hole just like yours

I run mediums on my 158 with out many issues. The tail is kind of long, so I'm mindful when doing switchbacks not to step on it, other than that they work great, good grip, lots of glide

I run the G3 ski skins on my solution. (found them for 80 bucks new) Work great!
