My first few times out were on burton Cartel's (1st gen) which really didn't go far enough back and crammed my toes so much it was incredibly painful and I had to remove the hi-backs for touring. Also, consider that different people have different geometry.

I was out touring the other day ( I use Burners) and I noticed my feet/leg hurting on the way up, thought it was my boot or something, but turned out my right highback had some forward lean left on it. Stopped and put it back to zero and was pain free again. I definitely believe for many people you need to get rid of that forward lean. I guess snowboard boots always have some built in, what we really need is a boot with a tour mode for snowboarding so we can walk/stride normal.(besides a hardboot :wink:
