Black Prince is a good little spot. Get there early to beat the crowd (I saw 10 people there once) Actually anywhere along the Smith Dorian/Spray Lakes road is pretty good. Walk farther west towards the divide and have fewer people. Most are lazy and stay close to the road. I might be headed that way Saturday, or I may go down Hwy 93, depending on snow conditions
Hey man thanks a bunch for the info is this the dude with the RHD 4runner hardbooter from calgary, Jason here i toured with you at split fest in ursas trees. Ya i think now we are heading out on sunday and we were looking at doing the black prince traverse over to the sawmill day use area have you ever done that route?

Nope never done that traverse. With no new snow out there, might be a good plan. conditions are looking pretty bomber rite now.
And yep. I'm the RHD truck, hardboot guy from Calgary
Bought a K2 at the start of the season so I'm just getting into this whole splitting thing...seriously should have invested in one earlier!
A few of us have been out in K-country every week/weekendish but we're always down for a sunday/monday mission if anyone's interested or wants to show me a thing or two.
Conversely, if you see the big Mission Snow and Skate truck say hi.

Black Prince should be well tracked up for you. Easy to find your way around. Try the sub peak to the north of the gully up track, might be your only shot at good turns. Its a bit of a bush whack through the trees. But once you gain the ridge and drop in road side you have some really nice terrain. Watch for wind loading

I'm too sick for climbing today. Gott's no wind
Thanks for the advice! We ended up riding the face of the cirque, was very good, we were eyeballing what you had pointed out, figured that would be slick too, just didn't have time to get in there.

I will normally hit it on the way out of there. from the gully its only 15minutes or so to the top of the ridge. Don't try to follow the creek back to the parking lot (i found that out the hard way, creek sucks bad) much better to head straight to the road and walk/skin along that way.
There are lots of good turns around the area for the early bird. And it gets allot more snow then 5 or 10km north.
