Decided to crawl out of the Stevens Pass corridor for day of some high pressure goodness on Mt Shuksan thanks to my friend Eric Svege.
We had an awesome fun, and at time firm and exposed, climb of the BYS couloir far west variation first done by eric wherley the day before. Then we watched some dudes spped fly shuksan.
We finished climbing the steep north face in very firm conditions. I was a little worried, but the decsent went great. After some confident side slipping for a hundred feet or 2, we had improvingly good conditions throughout.
Funny, the lower we got, the better the powder got. All the way to the valley bottom. The skin track out was already set by our speed flying friends, so the exit was almost painless.

Sorry guys. Not my camera, it's my computer. got it for free ten years ago, and it's about dead. my phone works faster, but not sure how to do much more then post words with that thing.
This weekend and on weirdly became a blur of non stop days of meeting so many local legends, and getting enriched in unwritten history. Riding a cascade classic, and forging new routes and friendships locally. Today is the first time I had a chance to really sit down.
I'm obviously not a pro photographer... especially with moving targets. sorry, but no pictures of myself riding, amybe this should be ona climbing site, but you'll get the picture.
a few from the climb,
fly guys! fly. man, what a rad way to hang out with your buddy! Not french, more like german. Woody goomsba!!
back to climbing, now on the north face,
and on top oh the north face hump.
Shuksan summit
Per usuall, I suck at action shots. My partners took some, but I haven't seen them. here is a couple skiing photos form the north face decsent.
And to not totally devoid this of riding pics, I spent the last two days hanging with another know local character enjoying our back yard... two days of sunshine and freezed dried powder and tagged a line I got denied last week(ha, and no pics!)Not nearly as exposed as SHuksan, bust just enough to make it fun, but not gripping. .. Been a really fun few days starting out with haning ot with a great crew friday night for Kyle's movie showing in seattle. It's like it starting a chain reaction of one of the funnest total package long week in a long time.
chillin,
ripping...!
Day two's grand finale... taken from yonder way with B.S. gaining the ridge did take some rock work, and a little downclimb to ride the south west face.
I saw the guys flying and landing under Table on Saturday on my way up to the saddle. One of the guys in our group talked to them at the end of the day and they shared a beer and told him they were headed up Shuksan the next day. It sounds like it was an adventurous day and a great time. I can't wait to get up onto Shuksan.

Funny. We seen Drew climbing the white salmon. Didn't know it was him, but when I seen his report, figured you had to be with him. Would have been sick if the moon wasn't partially obscured. White salmon decsent if full moonlight would have been beyond epic in them conditions.
Yeah, same dudes Jason. Although one of the four left his wind and climbed and skied with us instead. The two in the picture are somwhat novices. Missed the pro, so he may have been much closer the terrain.
