What's up everybody? I just bought my first splitboard last night. It's a Voile 173and a few years old (was used as a shop demo) but got a bro deal on it so figured it was worth it.
Anyways stoked to try it out, my buddy has the same setup and has been doing it for a few years. We normally access the backcountry on our sleds and I am hoping this will allow us to get out to some of the peaks that are harder to access. Anybody else out there in the cascades (or elsewhere) using the snowmobile/splitboard combo to access the goods?
At times, I use the snowmobile/splitboard combo to get to the hard stuff with long approaches when time is of the essence. Love em both for that reason. My dad always says, "there is a time and place for everything."
Around these parts, a snowmobile ride to the goods means 50 miles at times.
If aguy shows up at SEATAC with splitboard, bc gear and ready can you pick me up ?
Yes... but why on earth would we want to do that? I can think of numerous reasons why we wouldn't want to:
-conditions suck (like now)
-doubling for 10-20 miles blows or often times impossible
-revealing our hard earned "secret" spots
-have no clue of your proficiency
-I am anti-social
*Of course, if your supply'n the beverages and party favors... many of my above points could easily be overlooked...
