this shit hits close to home even when it's someone you've only meet online and in passing on the skin track it's been said before at least for the intermountain west- it's the year of the dragon, don't wake it.

positive thoughts go out to his friends and family
^^^This x2.
As the old saying goes, there are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are very few old bold pilots.
Alecs was a bold pilot. Shred in peace.

Sad to see this happen. We have some seriously iffy conditions this year, and it won't be getting much better. That itch to get the good riding is hard to deny. Its low angles and and trees for me this year.

Wow! Sucks to hear this. Looks like he really knew this zone and was doing his due diligence to know the snow pack. This is a scary story and eye opener. Be careful out there!
I bumped into Alecs once on a skinner. His enthusiasm made a positive impression. When I saw his car still parked at Argenta near dusk yesterday, my hair stood on end. I offer sincere condolences to those who were close to him.
