So for dense snow pack the uphill climb is very important so using narrow skins on a wider spit isn't going to make it easy
George thanks for the tip - I'm no stranger to importing from the US, I got all my gear in 2001 from the US in one shipment. However with Skins being light importing from US make lots of sense!
Bidding on the Voile Split Kit on ebay is going strong and the snow here has just melted so maybe I'll wait. The Lake District Ski Club has a hut near the summit where you can stash gear so maybe I'll leave an old board up there and just walk up and then use that as a base. Even so it's got me thinking - the clicker bingings are a flat metal plate which I'm sure could be used to hold the sides of a splitboard together - watch this space
