Sunday while testing new gear, I slipped and fell skinning a steep section. When I got up I found that my LT pin had disengaged the outer mount and the bent pin was now holding the binding to the touring bracket.

I'm 90% sure I had the pins properly tucked away when I started the tour. Has anyone else depinned in similar circumstances?

My pins haven't slipped all the way out yet, but they are getting looser I have noticed. I now make sure the bent end of the pin is completely folded onto the baseplate, and step on it before buckling in. That way it can't slide out.

If the pin is tucked inside the strap it is nearly impossible for the pin to come loose without a lot of force.

There was a bit of torque involved getting my edges perpendicular to the fall line.
