Well, I got the call. My board trickled into the shop. Hopefully I don't immediately break the clips.

saw a hovercraft in the local shop and the build quality was dire. two very miss matched "skis". the left for sure was 1/2" out vs right. there was a 1/8" gap at one point

real shame as the solid board was awesome
really glad my Venture is sooooo good.

First impressions: beautiful board. Tip and tail seem solid and I love the reinforcement. The K clips are a nice treat, too. Both sides are the same height and line up. Top sheet is a glossy dream and the hole alignment appears just fine.

My main dig on the board I received is that it appears the center of the board shows 1/16-1/8'' through -- it's not flush down the center or at the tip and tail beyond the K clips. Some areas less than others, but at least one area of definite sun showing through. I'm honestly not sure how that will affect the ride all that much especially when the bindings are sent through. Nonetheless it's a bit disappointing.

I look forward to the first skin and shred session to get a better feel for this board. Despite the aforementioned bummer point, the deck feels rock solid compared to a deck with the Chinese hooks w/o bindings thrown on yet.

I'd like to see a pic too! As much as I love the Hover shape really thinking of moving on.

So I broke out the tape measure and it's 1/16. Apologies for the alarmist comment... I was probably hopped on on getting fresh gear. I suppose I should compare out my current voile and check to see if there is a gap similar.

Edit: Yeah, the voile is about 1/16 as well.

Yeah, all boards have a little space for sure. 1/8 on a factory board would be pushing it a bit. Hope you enjoy the board. I am still holding out for the Hover.....perfect shape for what I want in a split.

I spotted about three Solution's against the back wall at Bent Gate in Golden last night. Not sure on sizing, but I assume that's their shipment and once they're gone that's it -- fwiw.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I am moving on! Just got an email that my back order is not coming. Got to say.....Jones is dropping the ball as a company and the way they are distributing by making you wait and then not delivering each promised date is more than frustrating. At this point, I'll gladly give my money to someone else.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure you could call Bent Gate and pay for shipping if you wanted a Solution, since I know they have a few. Otherwise, I can't say I blame you.

BTW...this is exactly why I was going to let my order expire @ REI. JJ should seriously consider (you reading JJ?) bringing the manufacturing of these boards back home. Nidecker was contracted presumably to deliver on the high demand for these boards, and they've failed miserably.

I'm a guy who likes to buy new gear, and only this christmas eve (near) miracle kept them from losing me forever.

In the future though...if I can find something comparable in shape, I'll likely opt to go another direction.

hmmm... a little nervous having read this thread and seen a few other mentions of Solution issues elsewhere.
waiting on delivery of a solution and hoping it will be ok, especially as it's the last one the distributer had in the country.
with any luck it will be a keeper - keen to replace my YES basic diy split, noodlefest.
